  • ACRL Best Practices in Marketing Academic and Research Libraries @ your library Award
    Through funds provided by the ACRL Friends Fund Committee, an award will be made to the academic/research library that demonstrates a best practices marketing program through documentation that addresses the criteria for judging described herein.
  • Advocacy Institute
    Looking to improve your advocacy skills? Want to meet fellow library supporters from across the country? Get the tools to become an effective library advocate at the Advocacy Institute.
  • ALTAFF Trustee Citations
    The ALTA Trustee Citation award is awarded by the American Library Association and the ALTA Division. It is presented during the Opening General Session at the ALA Annual Conference, and honors the best contributions and efforts of citizens who sit on library boards.
  • Gale Cengage Learning Financial Development Award
    An annual award consisting of $2,500 and a 24k gold-framed citation presented to a library organization that exhibited meritorious achievement in carrying out a library financial development project to secure new funding resources for a public or academic library entity.Donated by Gale Cengage Learning. Deadline is December 1.
  • Honorary Membership Criteria
    Honorary membership may be conferred on a living citizen of any country whose contribution to librarianship or a closely related field is so outstanding that it is of lasting importance to the advancement of the whole field of library service. It is intended to reflect honor upon the ALA as well as upon the individual. Deadline is September 1.
  • Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship
    An annual award consisting of $1,000 and a 24k gold-framed citation of achievement honoring an individual for contributing significantly to the public recognition and appreciation of librarianship through professional performance, teaching, and/or writing. Donated by Ken Haycock. Deadline is December 1.
  • Merritt Fund and IFRT
    The American Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Round Table is working with the LeRoy C. Merritt Humanitarian Fund to help promote the existence of this trust fund. We want to be sure that it remains a known, and viable, resource for librarians who are facing discrimination and/or censorship challenges and who may benefit from applying to the Merritt Fund for personal financial assistance under extreme circumstances.
  • Paul Howard Award for Courage
    A bi-annual award consisting of $1,000 and a 24k gold-framed citation of achievement honoring a librarian, library board, library group, or an individual who has exhibited unusual courage for the benefit of library programs or services. Deadline is December 1, 2008.
