  • ALTAFF Literacy Award
    The ALTA Literacy Award is a plaque presented annually to a library trustee or volunteer who has made a significant contribution to addressing the literacy problem in the United States.
  • Equality Award
    An annual award consisting of $1,000 and a 24k gold-framed citation of achievement given to an individual or group for outstanding contribution toward promoting equality in the library profession. The contribution may be either a sustained one or a single outstanding accomplishment. The award may be given for an activist or scholarly contribution in such areas as pay equity, affirmative action, legislative work and non-sexist education.Donated by Scarecrow Press, Inc., a member of the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group. Deadline is December 1.

  • Scholastic Library Publishing Award
    An annual award consisting of $1,000 and a 24k gold-framed citation presented to a librarian whose "unusual contribution to the stimulation and guidance of reading by children and young people" exemplifies outstanding achievement in the profession. (Donated by Scholastic Library Publishing.) Deadline is February 1. (Formerly the Grolier Award.)
