LITA/Brett Butler Entrepreneurship Award Awarded annually to recognize a librarian or library who demonstrates exemplary entrepreneurship by providing an innovative product(s) or service designed to meet the needs of the library world through the skillful and practical application of information technology.
LITA/OCLC Frederick G. Kilgour Award for Research in Library and Information Technology This award brings attention to research relevant to the development of information technologies, especially work which shows promise of having a positive and substantive impact on any aspect of the publication, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information, or the processes by which information and data is manipulated and managed.
AASL Information Technology Pathfinder Award The award, donated by the Follett Software Company, recognizes library media specialists for innovative approaches to information technology in the school library media center. The award, $1,000 to the school library media specialist and $500 to the library, is given in two categories--elementary (K-6) and secondary (7-12).
Library of the Future Award An annual award consisting of $1,500 and a 24k gold-framed citation of achievement to honor an individual library, library consortium, group of librarians, or support organization for innovative planning for, applications of, or development of patron training programs about information technology in a library setting. Donated by Information Today, Inc. Deadline is December 1.
