Oprah's Book Club
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle is the Oprah's Book Club Selection for Spring 2008
ALA public, middle school, high school, and community college Organizational Members are eligible to receive the latest Oprah's Book Club selection. Eligible, current Organizational Members will receive between 2 and 8 copies of the selection, depending on size. Penguin Group (USA,) the publisher, shipped the book in February.

Information about book clubs, a reading guide, and moderated discussion are available online in the "Oprah's Book Club" section of www.oprah.com. Your library or school media center has a wonderful opportunity to connect with local book clubs and to integrate more closely with the curriculum by using Book Club selections in programming.
Since 1996, Oprah's Book Club publishers have distributed more than 500,000 free books to ALA member libraries. Ms. Winfrey has made this distribution a central part of her Book Club, providing libraries across the country with new ways to promote use and increase circulation of classic literature. This benefit of membership is a key reason to keep your Organization's membership up to date. Over 10,000 copies of the current book will be distributed.
